Hi Everyone! It's great to see so many folks planning to come on the 18th!! :D

I live at 410 1st. Ave. N. Oxford Junction, Iowa 52323. It's easier for some people to just use Mapquest or Streets and Trips to find a location.
Otherwise, I live 10 miles North of Clarence, Iowa which is on Hwy. 30.
If you need more directions, please feel free to PM me for more details. Also, if you would feel more comfortable, I can give you my cell# if you PM me. That way, you can call if you get lost...It happened to me already this year finding Joshes' place! I was so glad I had their number with me!

Here's my plans for the 18th so far:

I am asking people to come around 11ish. Earlier or later is fine. I plan on eating around 2:00, with the Hosta swap afterwards. I am still working on a couple of games to play also.
I am furninshing the meat, drinks, and plates, etc.
Just bring a dish for the potluck, a lawn chair, and named Hosta (s) for the swap...up to 3.
I'm making marinated boneless chicken breasts on the grill, and either BBQ beef or Pork, or a ham. Haven't decided the 2nd. meat yet....but I will soon!
If you have any questions at all, please ask!!
Can't wait to see everyone! :D

I'll have to remember to eat breakfast late! I'm still trying to decide what hostas to bring. Guess I'd better get my decision made soon, like today, and get them potted up!
And chairs..gotta remember the chairs.
I think Linda Cunningham is coming with me, so there's one more to add to the list.

So far, here's who I know are coming --
Judi P and I will be bringing Chelilyn and Becki (dax80) from our HHS and Dave's Garden associations.
I believe Kit and Gary plan to come, as well as Allnitro and Marie.
Another friend, Mindy is hoping to bring a friend (from the Monticello area).
Others might reply at the last minute this week, but will let you know if they do.

I can't wait. Only thing is, I just found out my son and husband have a scout outing, so I will have to bring Emmy. I hope no one minds. Roxanne, do you have a a dog or kitty to keep her occupied? How about duck tape? Preferably pink.

Now this is just great! Glad to see so many folks planning to come Saturday! :D
Always Weeding, everyone is welcome.
I'm making allotta meat, so it's covered.

Jo, Emmy will be fine. I have the kid thing covered very well here. Heck, there's toys out in the gazebo right now from last weekend. Yep on the dogs, fish to feed, playstation and tv inside....no pink duct tape tho. Grey might have to suffice.

I decided on BBQ pork as the 2nd meat, besides the chicken.

I can't wait to see everyone!

Roxanne - :D I get to come unless there is some unforseen disaster that happens. Yippee :!: Someone finally agreed to work for me.

I am so excited to see everyone again :!: Are Jimmy & Lois coming over :?:

I have one plant sitting in a big pot all ready to make the trip. It's a streaker 'Sea Sunrise'. I have a really nice 'Savannah Supreme' I am trying to talk myself into bringing along for the games. And I need to choose one more plant I guess. I have some nice little sdlgs but don't know if people would be interested in them :?:

Pink duct tape that is interesting!!! I have some boy-blue painting tape. Should I bring it along?

Looking forward to seeing friends & meeting new friends.

Marlys, I am sure any of us would like your seedlings. So glad that you can make it. Jo, I have bright pink duct tape, but Emmy is to cute to put it on. I have to figure out what would be nice plants to bring. May have to pick one up from the farmers market.
See everyone Saturday.

Sounds like a nice group!! I can't wait to see everyone. :D

Marlys - You maybe need to pick out one more plant. The ride isn't free anymore now that I know you have Sea Sunrise.

Reldon - Am I going to be save on the ride over :?:
Or are you going to 'mug' me & throw me in a ditch so 'Sea Sunrise' will be yours :?:

I was just worried about the ride home / now I have to worry about getting there safely too :!:
Maybe you'll win 'Sea Sunrise' in the Hosta games

So glad Jimmy & Lois are planning on coming. I haven't seen them forever :!: or since last summer.

And Linda P / Sue / Jo - it is going to be a good 'reunion' :!: And there will be new Hosta Friends to meet & greet :!:

Audra Wilson just reminded me that "Hosta is the Friendship Plant". The very first time I met her @ her gardens she gave me like 8 starts of os Russ O'Hara hostas. She had them out of the ground moving them into other beds & she said it was "the time" to share. She also shared with 3 other hosta friends that were with me. Now that's what it's all about - "giving back" when we have enough to share

See You All Soon!!!
Thanx! Roxanne :D

Marlys~~Sue will attest to the fact that Emmy talks ALL of the time. I was thinking using pink duct tape would be less obvious; blend in a little.

Are we going to have to give Marlys and Reldon time outs on opposite sides of the gardens?? I guess first they would have to both make it to Roxanne's in one piece. Behave you two!

Is it Saturday yet??

Jo - In my day there was no such thing as time outs!
You just got a good spanking  if you didn't behave.
I was such a good girl I never got a spanking though. Actually I was afraid of my dad. He'd get his belt out and sanp it hard and we all turned into angels immeadiately. He never hit anyone but he had us believin' he would :o

Sad news!!! - The deer have been here sampling my hosta flowers. Big deer hoof-prints in the mud (another 0.8" of rain last night) and flower stalks nipped off at the top / too tall for rabbits. Stealth will not have many seeds this year. :bawl: I plan to spray Liquid Fence again tonight. Ron was suppose to spray for me last night as I had seen prints in one bed but had to work yesterday & had garden club mtg last night. Ron FORGOT to spray for me or so he said. I'm thinking he hates the smell of LF. The flowers on Golden Friendship are mostly gone too and quite a few others. Thank goodness 'Sally & Bob' hasn't flowered yet. I would really be discouraged. The awesome hot pink flocks I was considering entering in the county fair on Sunday are no more so don't have to think about that anymore. You know those deer eat the sweet smelling hosta flowers first. They must have a 'sweet tooth'. Actually I so thankful they didn't eat more.

OK  I have to choose one more plant for Saturday - what will it be :?: I'll be lying awake all night thinking about it. Maybe I'll just go out this evening and dig my best Rascal sdlg from the shade house but it's my favorite.:hmm:
If you all could see my H 'Rascal' it would be love at first sight. It is huge and awesome and upright and suttley variegated and wonderful substance and no slugs and perfect (except it's crowding H 'Diana Remembered' which is a really nice specimen plant too). I should go out and take pictures but I don't know how to resize them for here and have to send them to Reldon to post for me.

Thanx! everyone for the fun & Thanx! Reldon for letting me tag along with you on Saturday. You're the Best

I hope Josh & Jim get to come too. I've only seen Josh 2 x this year / once in January for his now annual birthday bash @ the casion in Tama / Toledo & at the midwest regional. I couldn't make his open house or hosta ice cream social this year again. :(

Come on Saturday & get here.
