The big dark green one at 11 o'clock is Gunsmoke, the white margined one at 4 o'clock is Emily Dickenson (just barely showing at 1 o'clock is Beckoning and at 3 o'clock Jack of Diamonds) and the one directly in front is First Frost.

That's a nice hosta garden...exactly the look my wife is looking for - lots of variety and full but with slight separation between plants.

A great choice for hosta of the day! I had put off getting this one, thinking that it would be close enough to Regal Splendor
that I didn't need them both. Then I saw the row of them at Hallson's last year and changed my thinking on the spot.
It's been a good grower, and is really much different than Regal Splendor, at least to my eyes.
And time remembered is grief forgotten,
And frosts are slain and flowers begotten.....

Welcome to the forums Mark.

Hosta 'Tom Schmid' is a white edged sport of Hosta 'Krossa Regal', found and named by Michigan nurseryman Tom Schmid. It is a really attractive plant, and yes, the coloring is a lot like El Nino but on a larger scale.

Ok thank you for that to be honest I have a regal spledor that looks similar still infancy stages at the moent though. Most of my Hostas are new as I had to leave most before the move. My best performer this year has to be Striptease one of the few older ones I brought with me. Personal favourite tho is Francee however just a baby at the mo alas I left my BIG Francee. my so called Patriot hasnt turned out to be Patriot at all its yellow edged not fully sure of id yet but suspicions of a wide brim or F Aurio alas.
Guacamole Has done very well tho 2 divisions when pirchaed 3 months ago now 7 and getting BIG wooooo
