Daily Hosta #2 - 'Outhouse Delight' - add your pics

Post by ViolaAnn »

Name: H. 'Outhouse Delight'

Description: Lance shaped, moderately twisted, moderately wavy, intensely rippled leaves with moderately prominent veins. Leaves emerge white and gradually become speckled green.
Size: Small (18"w x 6"h)
Origin: H. Undulata Hybrid
Flowers: medium lavender flowers in July
Added to garden: Spring 2007
Notes: rhizomatous, but not particularly fast growing. This one gets sunburnt each year and I generally end up removing all of the first flush of leaves.

'Outhouse Delight' June 2 - beginning to green up and because we had lots of rain in May, it didn't fry until June this year.

Not too fond of the hosta itself but I LOVE the name!

I'm about to get rid of this one, I think. But I might put it in a pot first so I can move it around. It always burns and takes forever before it looks good. I'm inclined to think it's not worth the space in the garden.

This one is smaller each year. At the end of this season what is left of it after the slugs take their bite will become compost. It's not worth the space it takes in a pot.

Just to report that my 'Outhouse Delight' did not make it through the winter of 2014-15.
