Name: H. 'Obsession'
Description: Slightly shiny medium green leaves with a darker green margin.
Size: Small (18"w x 12"h)
Origin: sport of H. ‘Sparkling Burgundy’ (Tony Avent 1998)
Flowers: medium lavender, tubular flowers in mid-summer on 18" scapes.
Added to garden: Spring 2007
This one doesn't thrill me. I divided it in the spring and sold part of it. Planted the rest in a group of 3, but half way through the season, I moved it to my veggie garden and I plan to get rid of it next year.

Obsession has subtle shading that could easily be missed. Not sure what conditions would show this one off the best.

Here's a June pic of Obsession in the garden with Sunshine Glory and Spilt Milk behind it.

Mine has never been that lovely green. Have I got an odd-ball?

I have not been obsessed with 'Obsession'. I divided it last year and got rid of most of it, but kept these two small divisions which look better than the large plant ever did.

'Obsession' is really going from my garden this year. I kept it in a pot the last two years and it did well. At the moment it's blooming madly, but it's so full of holes, it looks like lacework. I think there are better solid green hostas out there; so mine is out to plant sales next spring.

Just adding a flower. My Obsession is in a trough and looks horrible.

2015 0 July 25. Well, it didn't get divided up until this autumn, but it is gone now.
