My plant was divided spring 2011 as it was outgrowing the space I had for it. This was not an easy plant to divide.
It has never shown the white line mentioned above.
It looks like the lower right leaf on your Deja Blu is showing the line.
This summer I tried putting one into full sun to see what would happen. The center bleached out from blue to medium green and the line showed up really well. Unfortunately it then fried in the middle by the end of August, so I think you need to find a balance between enough sunlight to help the line show up but not so much to bleach out the rest of the color.
Chris, I DID notice that after I posted the picture. Maybe I should move this one to the east side of my house where it gets more morning sun. Would have more space to grow too.
And here's what a very young one might look like. Planted this one in early September. It had been sitting in the sun for awhile so it's a little buned.
I thought you might like to see the division of Deja Blu that I got from you last year. Nice size for a first year division and DB is doing well despite root competition. Pic taken May 23. Sorry the picture isn't better but its the only one I took.
