Name: H. 'Brother Stefan' - 2008

Description: nearly round leaves lightly cupped and deeply corrugated leaves; scape has inflorescence leaves; leaves have a maple leaf variegation pattern
Size: Medium-large 35"w x 22"h
Origin: H. 'King Tut' x H. 'Mildred Seaver' seedling
Flowers: pure white, bell-shaped on tall scapes
Added to garden: Spring 2008

This one has grown very well although I'm struck by the similarity between it and my 'Great Expectations'.

Brother Stefan is one hosta that I can always name when seeing it in someone else's garden. Another first year hosta for me, it took a while for me to find one that looks halfway decent.

Lovely hosta, think it is one of the best newer hostas. It grows rather fast, but most of all it get texture in its 2. year. It have way more texture than GE and is way easier and faster than the other ones Gets a lot of sun in my nordic garden and is still one of the nicer hostas in the garden here late August.

This is my first attempt at posting a picture on this forum. This pic was taken on Aug 3. I had to remove 8 solid green leaves from my Brother Stefan earlier this season. Has anyone else's BS reverted?

Thanks, Viola Ann, I had trouble with resizing my image to the right Kbits. I should have made it a bit larger. Love this hosta and I hope it doesn't revert again.

'Brother Stefan' in 2014. This one continues to do well. I may have to move some plants to give it more space.

As mentioned in another thread, 'Brother Stefan' failed to survive the winter, but it looked great all through 2017.
