Mine got off to a rough start with damage to the crown early in the second season in which I had it. I also had it in a location which was too dark for awhile. It's been moved around and finally, in its 4th season began to look pretty good, though still small.

It is a very nice hosta and as you said a rather good grower too.
It is a hosta Mike - Hallsonite , found some years ago.
Mine got eaten up by KiwiFull Monthy, Azure Snow and Cho Cho Train... didn't survive my resque

Moved this one in 2011, it has come on nicely since then - pic below is about 5-6 wks ago and it has added even more leaves on second flush since then.

I just moved mine this afternoon, along with about a dozen others. I think it will look better in the new location and I hope it will continue to grow well.

2015 - July 3. Until I looked at last year's picture, I thought this one had grown a lot. The pics tell a different story. It is doing quite well though.

And a 2012 seedling from 'Christmas Pageant' which has ATTITUDE! Photo June 28. It's in a pot that's about 9" wide.
