Hosta of the day -'Tears of Joy' - post your pics
'Tears of Joy' is my second smallest hosta, though I've only had it a year; so that could change. Acquired last year, it was so slow to emerge this year that I thought I'd lost it. But I dug up the roots and all seemed fine; so I replanted it and waited impatiently. It has been described as a miniature 'Praying Hands' with its small upright leaves. See the white plastic knife at the left of the pic for scale.

Name: H. 'Tears of Joy'
Description: Medium-green lance-shaped leaves are folded. Said to be a vigorous grower.
Size: Mini (4"h x 13"w)
Origin: Sport of H. 'Tiny Tears'
Flowers: Tiny purple flowers top the clump in midsummer
Source: Rideau Woodland Ramble
Added to garden: June 2010
Notes: At time of purchase, this was the smallest hosta I've ever had. Two years later, I find it a bit slow in growth. It's also slow to emerge in the spring.

2014 - This one is still in a pot and it's doing well. I managed to get one small division for my Hort. Society spring auction. My did not bloom in 2014, but I've seen posts of its very strange bloom. I thought mine was just having a bad day last year when it bloomed. Picture July 16, 2014.

Two pictures from 2015. The first, from June 21 shows the peculiar bloom on this plant. It appears to have no petals on most of the flowers.
Later in the season - Aug. 2.
