Hosta of the Day - 'Janet's Sister'

Post by redcrx »

'Janet's Sister' is a sport of 'Janet'. It is similar to Moonlight.

I have noted that this plant is similar to 'Moonlight' - the same early golden coloration with a white edge but I have to grow it out some more. It doesn't seem to have as much of the dark-tones that show up on the 'Moonlight' types at the transition boundary between the gold and the white. It also took on a parchment look this past season - may have been the heat. I have seen 'Gold Standard' get this "parchment" look when it gets too much sun but I didn't think this one got a lot of direct sun - maybe it did - I lost a large bush in that area and that may have changed the environment.
