It is a hard to beat green hosta with a very nice edge, self seeding, cheap... what more to ask for

I love the flowers on these. I got some in in 2009 but planted them in too much shade and they don't flower. These are in mid-day sun and flower well.

One of the most spectacular hosta sights I've ever seen was a huge swath of ventricosa in bloom in a high shade
established woodland area. Just amazing in flower. I've grown some seeds from it, and though it's supposed to
be one that will come true from seed, I have some diversity in the seedlings, including one very dark, almost
black one. I've yet to find just the right place for it...perhaps I need to give it a bed of its own with a surrounding
necklace of a little yellow edger hosta.
