I really like this one. Slugs and earwigs leave it alone and it has grown reasonably well.

What a beautiful plant! I'm really happy with this one myself, and wish that this had been chosen as a pink ribbon plant instead of Remember Me, which I can't grow at all :(

I have been amazed at how well High Society has grown and held up. It still looked great a few weeks ago when I had to dig up everything in my
growing area and set them aside for a while (plumbing problems: needed to get a backhoe into the yard) and I expected that it would really
decline after being dug, stacked in a pile and left for about 10 days. Nope. It still looked good when I put it back in the ground.
Remember Me hung on for a 7 years, but finally wasted away this year.

Here's my High Society, first year in my garden. It gets quite a bit of afternoon sun, but should be shaded by Parhelion next year.
I'm looking forward to watching this one grow.

gesila9 - yours must have been quite a large plant to start with. It's looking good.

Chris - maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought a couple of years ago you were saying that you had trouble growing 'High Society'. Anyway, I also find that it grows better for me than 'Remember Me'. But in the last couple of years, my RM has also started to grow.

This is the link to the RM thread. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=55033&p=476738&hili ... me#p476738

Not a fast grower for me, but has looked better each year. Great colors.

Hi Ann,

No, you aren't mistaken. The first batch of High Society that I started about 4 years ago was troublesome. They sat there, many turned into odd solid blue sports with strap-like leaves, and I never really got any decent plants from them. So I asked around if people thought it was worth growing and Josh told me to give them another try. I did, and the next batch took off. I think I had some bad tissue culture plants that came out of the lab too soon so the roots probably weren't hardened off enough. Since that first dud batch I've grown about 150 of them and haven't had any other trouble, and am thankful that I was encouraged to try again :D

Oh, and in case you were wondering, I tried Remember Me 3 times and pretty much failed each time. That's why I only tried High Society once and was ready to give up ;)

I ordered 3 High Society from Chris last spring and this pic is the three of them all potted up. Last fall, I planted them in the garden and this summer the heat / drought really baked them well. They ended up getting full sun in the late morning for several hours so I'm tempted to move them soon to a shadier location. I sure wish they had looked this good this year in the ground!

At 7 years in my garden, this one is getting mature and it's lovely. Mid-July 2014.

Here are a couple oh my High Society.

This first one came in in 2011. This is the best it ever looked. It's growing with too much root competition and I keep thinking about potting it.

This second one came in in 2008. These photos are from 2011 and the next page are this same plant in 2014 - not much difference. Again it's position - not enough sun, too many tree roots.

2017 - This one was too crowded. I dug and divided it with one division going to the auction at my Hort. Society this spring (2018). The one I kept got dug up by squirrels twice before I got it protected with decorative stones. Consequently, it was suffering a bit in spring 2018 and is now in a pot for TLC. This picture Aug. 5, shortly before I divided it.

I'm not sure if my plant was tagged right. It said High Society. I could use help identifying or confirming. Thank you!
