What puts the fizz in Grape Fizz is the large purple and white hyacinth-like bloom it produces in late summer. Grape Fizz with its Rhapsody in Blue x Plantaginea parentage is a large very glossy hosta with thick, slug-resistant, wavy leaves. I love this "greenie." It is a vigorous grower. Other then its flower, the plant is noticeably absent from catalogs. Only recently has my photo contest photo been added to the Hosta Library due to an oversight.

This one is on my Hallson's order for the spring
I had auctioned one off at our local hosta society, not having seen the flowers but having only a description of them as (truly) purple and fragrant. Then last summer I saw one in bloom and was blown away. (Pic from Conny Parsons' garden, although I think these were being held for installation at our newest public display garden.)
