'Cleopatra' is a 'Fortunei' sport with a gold/white margin and some streaks.
I was getting some late season photos today and noticed this one looking interesting for this time of year.

Cleopatra today with some good sized leaves - the plant right of center.
That's American Icon top/left and Otter Point (Art Wrede's #114) left. The little "blue" ones are Blue Kiwi.

Re: Hosta of the Day - 'Cleopatra'
I didn't realize how big the scapes were going to get on Cleopatra. These are easily 4 feet tall. It's been in flower for a month.
There are also some seed pots. I had been curious as to why a plant that obviously can put out pods would only have a few on a long scape. At this years First Look Convention, Roger Smith gave a talk on flowering and hybridizing. He tracked pod production and noticed that when the temperature got too hot, about 93 degrees I think, the pods would not set. He mentioned it takes 3 days for the pollen to get down to the ovary. If it's too hot during that time the pod won't develop. I think I can see that on these scapes - it must have been a little cooler for those pods in the middle to take. It been really hot most of the time around here.
