Hosta of the Day - Alley Oop

Post by redcrx »

Alley Oop is a small sport of 'Fortunei Aoki' where the twisted leaves have speckles and streaks. It seems similar to Allegan Fog.

I got this plant in 2010. It is still small because I have it in a garden where it has to fight it out with Red Cardinal Flowers and their thousands of seedlings. I cleaned much of the space this season so it may be larger next season. (I know the Hummingbirds are disappointed.)

Here it is in late 2011.
