Hosta of the Day - High Fashion

Post by redcrx »

I just got High Fashion in today. It's a sport of Kiwi Full Monty.

Hosta Registry - not registered

The margin looks the same as KFM. It has added some different shades of chartreuse streaking between the center and margin.

Sure is a pretty one. I'll have to keep an eye out for that one myself!

When I first posted this one I had a comment that it looked like the bright white strip (the Striptease trademark) was missing on this one but I took out the comment when I looked at some other photos.

In this photo you can plainly see the "trademark" white color in the vein.
From the write-up in the MyHosta Database this plant will look vastly different depending on the environment and time of year.

I had been posting pictures of this plant in another topic but I'm moving the discussion over here.

I have been trying to see if there is a difference between High Fashion and Pin-up - both are sports of Kiwi Full Monty. I had noted in the other topic that there seemed to be a brighter white center on Pin-up. I posted a photo last night that didn't seem to show what my eyes were seeing. I went out this morning to get better photos but it's overcast so I'm not getting the light I wanted. But here are today's pictures of High Fashion and one comparing it to Pin-up.

And a comparison - High Fashion on the left and Pin-up on the right.
