A two-tone green sport of Americana
A few years ago Americana put out an all green eye. I took it off and potted it. Digging through pots today I noticed that it wasn't just plain dark green anymore - it has a lighter green center now.

This year it's back looking better.
At the National Hosta convention this year one of the gardens you could visit was that of Dave and Gail Russo. While getting photos in their garden I came across this plant - I think the label was Color Revolt - a sport of Revolution. It remained me of this Americana sport - same family tree.Ed McHugh, Sicklerville NJ

You can definitely see the similarities. Nice looking sport - amazing how consistent your plant is.

Re: A two-tone green sport of Americana
I had been searching for a name for my sport. I was looking for something "patriotic" to stay in the family. Finally "Uncle Sam" hit me but it was already used. But my grand kids call my son-in-law "Uncle Sands" for Uncle Sam. That works on a few levels - it's part of my family and the word "sands" always reminds me of the John Wayne movie "Sands of Iwo Jima" with the flag raising.
