Hosta of the Day - Giantland First Scoop

Post by redcrx »

I debated with myself about putting this one up. It's not Registered, not in the MyHostas Database, and no pictures in the Hosta Library BUT there are a lot of them out there. This is a "gift" plant given out at First Look this year. Jeff Miller from Land of the Giants was the guest speaker and this plant is one of his. I'm going to plant it in my new hosta bed and see how it does in my environment. I'm assuming it will have a large cupped shaped leaf with heavy corrugation.

Jeff said it will be in his catalog next year. Looks like it will be a mid-sized brother between Little Hobber and Abiqua Drinking Gourd.

Thanks Dave, I was worried about it getting too big for my space.

I found Giantland First Scoop with a scape today.
Around it in the group are My Marianne left, Fragrant Blue bottom/left, One Last Dance Bottom/right, Ben Vernooij right and Lady Isobel Barnett top.
