Well, decided I wanted to try a Torii gate in my new bed. Turned out okay. Couple things I will change if/when I make another. I would switch the 2x4 and the 2x6 around and make the bottom/nuki board shoter. Over all I like it. Sorry for the bad quality of the picture I got it in the ground as it was getting dark. I also need to paint it. I did some quick painting, but didn't get it finished.
Probably should have put this in the Japanese garden forum, sorry.

Hi,
Yes ,you should have made the bottom cross piece not as long as the top piece, also it should be placed higher up about 6 inches lower than the top piece, but very good for your first attempt.

Hi George
Good to see that you are still at work, but so far as your pic goes I just can only see black
Try another pic in daylight so that we can all enjoy

oops ... for some reason I had formed the impression that this was George's work. My fault and my apologies
I now see what George was talking about and I agree. It still looks very good though

Hi Sam,
I'll let you off seeing that you have been missing for months, I had heard that you have been living it up in the sun while we have been having this awful weather.
George.
